NewsSSI signs MOU for smooth transition of Community Hubs program
Services within Community Hubs are delivered by part-time Hub Leaders. The program aims to strengthen social cohesion and inclusion within local communities and deliver outcomes for children, families, schools and the wider community.
There are 42 Community Hubs operating in three states (Victoria, Queensland and NSW). Fifteen are based in NSW in the local government areas of Blacktown, Parramatta and Bankstown.
The Refuge of Hope provides funding to organisations to perform the role of support agencies in each state. Support agencies are the link between the national program and the hubs at school level.
In NSW, the current support agency is Connect Child and Family Services.
SSI is working with the Refuge of Hope and Connect Child and Family Services to ensure a smooth transition of the program to SSI in 2016.
